At the beginning we had some problems with the computer because we are not used to use apple but then everything was fine, everybody loved our work. we talked about Spain, the Spanish government, Cordoba and finally about inmigration and some asociations that help immigrants.
In the afternoon we went to Amherst college, which is a wonderful private university. We saw some museums: dinosaurs and fine art. We learnt about Amherst College Center for Community Engagement, they organize activities to help minorities.

hi! I'm Maria, I am another one of the girls who is taking part in the Spanish students exchange. I would like to tell you what we have done today because it is a very important day. First, like a normal day in Amherst, we went to the High School we participated on our project, after we have gone to world dance class and danced with other pupils. At 11:37h we have seen the Obama inaguration on a big screen in the School Auditorium with many students from the High School. The President was in Washington in the open air outside the Capitol building, there was a big crowd listening to him, some people sang and played music. I am very happy to be in American on this important day.
Now we are going to sell a big cake and with the money we are going to give it to "Enlace de Familias" an organization that helps latino families in Holyoke.
Goodbye I have to prepare the cake.

Hi, I'm Alejandro!!
I'm a spanish student ( 1Bachillerato) ,and I'm participating in the exchange between Amherst and Cordoba.
Now I'm going to tell you about what we did yesterday and this morning.
Yesterday, from 7.45 to 14.20, we were in the different classes and working in our project with American people. We decided to make a documentary about immigration which includes some interviews and some important information.
Later, we went to Holyoke, a town near Amherst, with the American students who participate in the project too.
We went to an association called "Enlace De Familias", where we met some of the volunteers who work there. They explained to us what they do there and a bit about the association. Then, we had dinner all together, and after that we sat in a circle to talk and discuss about Holyoke and their problems, especially minority hispanic population.
When we came back to Amherst, we went to a male basketball game with our American friends, and we had a great time, but Amherst's team lost.
When the game finished, we went to our homes.
Today, the school started 2hours later, so we woke up much later than the other days.
In the high school,we had been in World Dance and after this class we listened to speach that Martin Luther King gave, "i have a dream", then we started our interviews for the project with non immigrants people, later we had lunch and here we are now.
Goodbye.

When school finished we went all together to a cafe. It was fantastic.
Then, I went to my house with Maya and her family. We had lunch and I spent some time with the computer. At 23:oo I went to bed.
The second day, Tuesday was a bit different. At the beginning we were in the library with all the spanish students. We spent here 2 hours and we were talking about the project and about the journey. Then we had two lessons. I was with Antonio. We had gay and lesbian literature. It was so funny and so interesting. I was in a lesson of international relations. It was good too and there I met a lot of people.
At 3:000 we were with in a club called "People of Colour United" and we were with a journalist who inteviewed me and took some pictures of us.

Today, Wednesday is Anna's birthaday. We bought her a cake, and we ate it. It has been a normal day. We have had the same subjects as yesterday. Now we're going to visit a Puertorican assciation.

Hi! I am Pedro, one of the members of the student exchange. I am going to write about the last three days:
On Fridays morning we woke up early in the morning, about half past six. We went to the ITD house for having a meeting with July and Victor Rosales, a man who works in another organization. We were talking about our expectations of the United States and the political and educational system of USA. We finished about half past twelve and we went to the central town to have lunch at a mexican restaurant. After that, in the afternoon we went to Amherst Regional High School to meet our host students and visit the school. The had prepared a reception for us. We had pizza, some cake and beverages. In the evening, at seven o'clock we went to watch a girls' basketball match: Amherst against Norhthampton. When we returned to the house we ordered our last meal together. It was chiken wings with "french fries" and Coke. We went to bed a bit early because we had to get up at 6.45
We woke up at 6.45. We had breakfast and after that Abril came to the house to pick us up and bring us to Boston, the main city in the state of Massachusetts. The journey took about two hours long. Arriving to Boston we were surprised by the high buildings and the large quantity of snow that covered the streets. We left our suit-cases in the hotel, which was really comfortable and warm. We went walking to the city center to have an overview of it. It was incredibly cold and there was a horrible freezing wind. We took a trolley bus, which showed us nearly the whole city. The guide spoke very fast and it was difficult to follow him, but in spite of this we enjoyed it a lot.
We returned to the center to go shopping and have lunch. In the evning we went to the Prudential Tower, that is one of the highest buildings in the city. it was amazing, we could see all Boston. Later, there was snow storm so we had to return to the hotel.
Next day, it was Sunday and when we woke up everything was covered in snow. We took the van and went Museum of Science. It was really interesting but we didn't spend much time because we had to go the go Harvard and then come back to Amherst. We were surprised by the quantity of buildings that make up the University of Harvard. We also went shopping to the official Harvard Shop. In the evening, when we came back the families picked us up and took us home. We were really sad to leave our house.

Hello everyone!! I'm Antonio, I'm 17 years old, from 2nd Bachillerato A, at IES Angel de Saavedra and I'm one of the students chosen to participate in the exchange with USA.
We arrived yesterday. First of all we took a train from Cordoba to Madrid, there, we took a plane to New York and when we got to New York, a member of ITD took us to Amherst, the village where we are living now. We're staying in a very big house all together. Today we were in ITD's training room having a presentation with some ITD's workers who are helping us to feel comfortable here. This afternoon we were walking around the main streets and having a coffee in Starbucks. Later, we came back home and we signed up in the US State Department official web page. Tonight we are having a Chinese takeaway.
We will upload pictures of us as soon as posible. Someone will write everyday. Bye!!!
